City Walk Photos
on Sep 22 in Artwork, Homelessness by lampsoLast week I had the pleasure of leading a small group of photographers on a short city walk. It was raining that night so we did not get to visit with as many people as we would have liked. However, we did get to visit with some amazing people and they allowed us to capture their lives on film. These are only a few of the photos that Lauren Ward Hammonds shot while on our walk. The top photo of this post is my favorite. If you look closely you will see a toothbrush in the middle of the cardboard bed. We did not stage that. In fact, none of these photos were staged. That photo speaks to the humanity of the issue of homelessness. From now on when I brush my teeth before going to bed I will think of this photo and people it represents. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as me.
